About a dozen people recently volunteered to do some light landscaping at various Leetsdale properties earlier this month.

Borough and Allegheny County council members participated, as well as other residents and a road crew member.

They did some landscaping for seniors and low-income properties as part of a new cleanup effort spearheaded by Mayor Sandra Ford. Work included cutting weeds and brush. Gloves and bags and light refreshments were provided.

The mayor said she is thankful for everyone involved, and hopes to build on the initiative for next year.
