Many Leetsdale seniors were treated to a Valentine’s Day celebration at the community’s high rise.

Mayor Sandra Ford, who was assisted by resident Lester Robinson in coordinating the event, said about 40 people were treated to a lovely afternoon on Feb. 13.

“It was a good time to get together with the seniors and talk,” Ford said on Feb. 19. “It gets them out and enjoys some camaraderie. We had the representative from (Quaker Valley) Salvation Army who donated pizzas and valentine cookies. We introduced our new borough manager Janet (Hardy-Miklos) to them. We had donated baked goods and everyone got plenty of valentine candy. It was fun.”

Event sponsors and volunteers included Quaker Valley Salvation Army, diVino Wine Bar, Helen Shockley, Linda Vacarro, Cathy Opalka, Debby Bombiani, Anita Coyne, Janet Gilbert and borough council.
