Letter to the editor: Sewickley needs a skatepark

People always say that parking lots are the best place to skateboard. But every parking lot I go to always has the same sign: NO SKATEBOARDING. I love to skateboard, but every skate park is so far away. My parents don’t have time to drive me to a skate park every day when they are all so far away. Street skateboarding is not safe for skateboarders, and it is especially not safe for kids like me. Skateboarding has been my favorite activity for a long time. I think Sewickley needs a skate park because it is fun to skateboard, and it is also good exercise. Plus, building a skatepark may inspire more people to skateboard. That would be a good thing because people love skateboarding and it improves coordination, it improves balance, and (because it can be difficult) it improves patience.
