Construction is underway for the new borough park in Sewickley that will be located in front of The Lindsay Theater & Cultural Center.

The work is being done by Pittsburgh-based Vermont Stone & Horticulture at a cost of $93,424. The borough owns the land and the lawn that the theater sits on, but not the theater.

Until the work is completed, the theater will be open, though theater-goers must use the Green Street parking lot entrance as opposed to the Walnut Street entrance. The alternate entrance is handicap accessible and is just 20 feet from the front entrance, according to the theater.

“The park will be a tremendous asset to the community. The building phase will involve minor inconveniences for Theater guests, but The Lindsay will definitely remain open throughout the construction process,” said Carolina Pais-Baretto Thor, the theater’s CEO. “We appreciate our guests’ understanding as Sewickley Borough transforms this space into a welcoming and attractive park for everyone to enjoy.”
