McCandless cultural center hosting presentation about Pittsburgh musicians
The McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage and Cultural Center is hosting a free presentation about “Famous Pittsburgh Musicians,” Nov. 16, with two sessions at 5 and 7 p.m.
Speaker and musician Gail Griffith will discuss famous musicians who came from Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh-area, including Bobby Vinton, Perry Como, Gene Kelly, George Benson, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, said Joe Wall, executive director of the heritage and cultural center.
“There’s a lot of musicians that come out of Pittsburgh. It proves to be an interesting topic,” said Wall, who recently stepped into the role of executive director, a volunteer position, replacing Abby Lucostic, who resigned in September.
Wall had been a member of the HCC committee.
Registration for Griffith’s presentation is required and can be done online at www.townof mccandless.org.
The cultural center is located at 830 Aufman Lane.
