The Scouts of Troop 243, located in Sewickley, held a Court of Honor ceremony on June 2 to honor its Scouts’ achievements.

Various merit badges were awarded for activities including photography, movie making, camping, swimming and animal care. In addition, Scouts who have met the necessary requirements advanced in rank. There are seven ranks in Scouts BSA: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle.

There will be a separate ceremony in the near future to recognize those Scouts who have achieved Eagle rank.

This year had a significant number of Cub Scouts who advanced into Boy Scouts and who, at the ceremony received the rank of Tenderfoot.
