Booked for Lunch: Outdoor book club

Students in grades six through 12 are invited to bring their lunch and a blanket or chair to the library 12:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 2 for an outdoor book club. No registration is required, but masks are.

Virtual tech meetup

Drop-in 1-2 p.m. Oct. 7 for a virtual meetup where you can discuss your tech questions and issues and work to find solutions – regardless of your skill level. The Zoom link can be found on the library’s website.

Curbside pickup

The library is offering curbside pickup 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2-4:30 p.m. Saturdays. Fill out a form online with requested items from the catalog and schedule your pickup time.

Sewickley StoryWalk

The Sewickley Public Library Children’s Department is pleased to be co-hosting the third Sewickley StoryWalk this fall with Fern Hollow Nature Center, Allegheny Land Trust and Mary Roberts Reinhart Nature Park and Ohio Township Nature Center.

Through Oct. 18, families can visit the sites at Fern Hollow Nature Center, Allegheny Land Trust-Audubon Greenway, Mary Roberts Reinhart Nature and Ohio Township Nature Center to take a self-guided walk around the parks and read a book as they go. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing. Enjoy the beginnings of fall, take a walk and read a book together with your family.

The StoryWalk at Fern Hollow Nature Center will feature the book “The Little Yellow Leaf” by Carin Berger. The featured book at Allegheny Land Trust-Audubon Greenway will be “In the Middle of Fall” by Kevin Henkes. At Mary Roberts Reinhart Nature Park, families can read the book “The Busy Little Squirrel” by Nancy Tafuri. And the StoryWalk at Ohio Township Nature Center will feature the book “Full of Fall” by April Sayer.

Virtual Storytimes

Virtual Storytimes are held each week at 9:30 a.m. The Tuesday session is Babies & Books, Wednesday is Stories for the 2s and 3s, Thursday is Preschool Storytime and Friday is Family Storytime.
