Quaker Valley School District’s first day of school was Sept. 8. The district is doing a mix of online-only and hybrid learning due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, a number of safety precautions have been taken, including wearing masks at all times, plastic shields and social distancing markers.

“We are very pleased with how the school year has started. Our students and families have adapted well to all of the changes put into place,” said Quaker Valley assistant superintendent Dr. Andrew Surloff. “I am so proud of the work our principals, teachers and other staff members have done to make the schools a safe place for on-campus learning. They make the difference. It’s been a great opening week and we are enthused to witness the growth and achievement that takes place this school year!”

Tribune-Review staff photographer Nate Smallwood captured images of students arriving for the first day at Edgeworth Elementary School.
