The Sewickley Music Club celebrated its 100th Anniversary on May 11 with a luncheon at Sewickley Heights Golf Club.

Musicians Steven Vance and John Garrick opened with a song recorded by Music Club founder Olive Nevin in 1920, “My Days Have Been So Wonderous Free.”

“It is such an honor to be elected during the second half of the Centennial Year,” said incoming Music Club president Tamey Zahrobsky. “I’ve been on the board in the past, however this year while doing research and planning for the Centennial, I discovered the depth of talent and history of our founder, Olive Nevin and the Nevin family. It’s been truly inspiring, and a reminder why the club needs to continue the vision Olive started 100 years ago and broaden the club’s new 100-year path into the future.”

Nevin’s second cousin Susie Nevin Cockrell was in attendance at the luncheon and presented with a bouquet of roses.
