Quaker Valley School District officials are preparing to send off the class of 2026.

Graduation is set for 7 p.m. June 1 at Chuck Knox Stadium in Leetsdale.

The football field is expected to be lined with 153 graduates, as well as the school’s concert band and chorus.

Superintendent Tammy Andreyko said it will not only be a milestone for the seniors, but for their soon-to-be alma mater.

“The end of the school year is full of milestone events, and none is more exciting and emotional than graduation,” Andreyko said. “It is the culmination of 13 years of teaching and learning, and our community comes together to recognize the many people who collaborated to bring our students to this achievement.

“This year, we are excited to celebrate the 70th graduating class of Quaker Valley and honor the accomplishments of the class of 2026.”

The program includes the following:

• A reading of “A New Cloud Comes In” by class of 2026 poet laureate Ana Luiza Bacchi.

• Remarks from the superintendent and School Board Vice President Geoff Barnes.

• Speeches from students Ella Palmer and Olivia Hoose.

• Presentation of the class by Principal Deborah Riccobelli.

Event precedings

Seniors participating in commencement must arrive at the school and report to the auditorium between 6 and 6:10 p.m. to check in with their sponsors. Students must be dropped off or come with a parent or guardian.

Students may not drive and park separately.

The stadium will open at 5:45 p.m. and all guests must be seated by 6:45 p.m. when the parking lot closes.

No tickets are required. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and there will be no assigned seating.

Those in need of accessible/disability seating may request accommodations via an online form on the district website.

Stadium parking will be limited to families of seniors. Each senior will receive one parking pass with their cap and gown. Students with dual mailing addresses will receive two parking passes.

Families must present their parking pass to district staff for entry into the school lot.

Shuttle service will be provided from Edgeworth Elementary School; the first shuttle departs at 6 p.m.

Return trips will begin immediately after commencement.

Concession stands will not be open for the event. A health tent will be available for those requiring medical assistance, and an ambulance will also be on standby.

The Steinfurth family will be collecting graduation gowns and stoles for reuse.

It is part of an initiative launched by graduate Ryan Steinfurth and his sister, Kate Steinfurth, a current junior, to make future Quaker Valley graduations more environmentally friendly by recycling regalia.

Graduates may donate their items by placing them in collection bins near the stadium exits after the ceremony or by dropping them off in the high school’s main office during the summer. Donations are optional.

Graduates should keep their cap and tassel, and those with younger siblings may wish to retain their gown and stole for future use.

Commencement rain dates are June 2 and June 3, both at 7 p.m.

District administration will notify seniors and families of any ceremony cancellations and rescheduled dates using the ParentSquare alert system, text messaging, and posting on the QVSD website.
