Quaker Valley High School quiz team advances to KDKA contest playoffs

Quaker Valley High School’s KD Quiz team won their matchup and qualified for the playoffs.

The team consists of seniors Oliver Graham, Brahm Gianiodis and William Musial and seniors Holly Collins, Aidan Carver and Sydney Earlewine as alternates.

They earned 265 points, defeating Sharpsville and Chartiers-Houston high schools in the KDKA contest hosted by meteorologist Ray Petelin and presented by GBU Life.

Three students from 81 high schools compete by answering questions from a variety of subjects.

Quaker Valley’s matchup aired on Jan. 20.

The playoffs are in the spring. Schedules are still being finalized.
