Quaker Valley School District will be closed Tuesday due to snow.

District communications director Michelle Dietz said more time is needed to clear roads and school lots, noting the below-freezing temperatures projected for Tuesday morning also played a factor in the decision.

Dietz said there are three cancellation days built into the school year calendar. Two already have been used, including Monday’s closure.

Further cancellations will result in virtual/flexible instruction days, Dietz said.

“These decisions are not made lightly and are often made in conjunction with neighboring school districts,” Dietz said. “We (also) consult with our bus service and local municipalities.”

District officials plan to welcome back students and staff Wednesday.

More information about Quaker Valley’s closing and instructional policies is available on the district’s website at qvsd.org.
