Several Quaker Valley School District leaders were recognized recently by a state organization for their outstanding efforts.

Superintendent Tammy Andreyko and district Director of Instruction and Learning Susan Gentile took center stage at the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s annual conference.

Andreyko received the 2024 Outstanding Supervision Leadership Award, given to PASCD members who demonstrate exceptional contributions in supervision, leadership and innovation to enhance educational outcomes.

She has served as Quaker Valley’s top administrator for the past five years and has led the district as a proud member of the League of Innovative Schools.

Andreyko said the recognition was the result of a team effort.

“This recognition reflects the incredible support and hard work of the school leaders, staff and community at Quaker Valley,” she said via a news release. “I share this honor with them and remain committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and student success.”

Gentile received the 2024 President’s Award, an honor given annually to an individual who has made a profound and lasting impact on PASCD, advancing its mission and driving growth and transformation.

Gentile had had multiple leadership roles throughout her career, including middle school and high school teacher, high school assistant principal, elementary school principal and director of instruction and learning.

“It is truly an honor to receive the PASCD President’s Award,” she said via a news release. “Serving on the PASCD Executive Board alongside so many incredibly talented and dedicated educators has continually inspired me to advocate for innovative practices that support both educators and students.”

Quaker Valley educators Karen Crawford and Katie Hanna were recognized as part of PASCD’s Emerging Leaders program.

Hanna also participated in a panel discussion, sharing insights and best practices with fellow attendees, further reinforcing the district’s reputation for excellence and innovation in education.

The conference took place Nov. 24-26 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.
