Quaker Valley School District will move to all online learning on Monday to help slow the spread of covid-19 after Thanksgiving.

District officials plan to welcome students back in the buildings on Monday, Dec. 14.

“This is not a closure,” officials said via post on the district’s website. “This is a move to remote learning to assist with mitigation efforts and sustain school operations. Our faculty and staff will still be available for students Monday through Friday as scheduled.

“Our teachers and support personnel will help our students gather their materials this week, so they have the items they need at home to begin online learning.

Administrators gave a presentation about covid-19 mitigation efforts earlier this month. The presentation was also posted on the district’s website.

The presentation showed there were six active covid cases in the district and 62 people on attendance restrictions as of Nov. 17.

There were 22 resolved cases, including 12 at the high school and eight at the middle school.

Meals will continue to be provided Wednesdays at the middle school while buildings are closed to students.
