Quaker Valley High School students recently celebrated homecoming and crowned a new king and queen.

Seniors Nicholas Winnowski and Alexa Westwood were named this year’s royal couple during halftime of the game between the Quakers and the Hopewell Vikings on Sept. 26 at Chuck Knox Stadium.

Last year’s king — Nicholas’ brother Willie — gave them their crown and tiara to much fanfare.

The Quakers would go on to fall to the Vikings, 48-0.

The theme of the night was “Neon.” A lot of bright pink and yellow could be seen in the crowd.

The homecoming court featured multi-sport athletes, Key Club and band members, including drum major Olivia Galluzzo and drummer Charlotte Liao.

The homecoming dance took place at the stadium Sept. 27.

About 450 students, including several from other districts, participated in the event, making it one of the largest dance crowds in recent homecoming history.

More homecoming photos and a video highlighting court members and their school interests can be found on the district’s Facebook page.
