Many Rite Aid locations across Western Pennsylvania are closing and the Sewickley store is no exception.

The last day to buy things at 517 Beaver St. is July 20.

Everything must go, according to a sign in the window — including the shelves and fixtures that are up for sale.

Another sign in the window said prescriptions will be available at Giant Eagle Pharmacy at 5 Quaker Village Shopping Center in Leetsdale. The pharmacy’s number is 412-259-1021.

Sewickley Borough Manager Donna Kaib said she had not heard of any plans for the Rite Aid site once it is closed.

The closure is one of about 1,200 possible shutdowns announced in May.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy that month, blaming “the rapidly evolving retail and health care landscapes.”

About 31,000 workers have lost or will lose their jobs.

The company also announced at the time that it would stop honoring gift cards as of June 5.
