Sewickley Academy officials are preparing to send off the next class of seniors.

Graduation is set for 4 p.m. June 5 at Rea Auditorium on the private school’s campus, 315 Academy Ave.

Seats are reserved for 47 graduates.

Students are to report in at 2:45 p.m. to the Lower School cafeteria.

Americans with Disabilities Act parking will be available at the small lot in front of the auditorium. All other guests may park in any of the lots on campus or surrounding streets. Golf carts will be available to assist with transporting guests from the parking lots.

Those in need of assistance are encouraged to arrive early.

Speakers include student government president Nicholas Day and Head of Lower School Jerilyn (Carter) Scott.

Head of School Ashley Birtwell said graduation is always an exciting time for students and staff.

“As our seniors near the conclusion of their time at Sewickley Academy, we look forward to celebrating the many ways that they have distinguished themselves as students, leaders, teammates and artists,” Birtwell said. “While we will miss their presence on campus, we are excited to honor them in the coming weeks and to welcome them into our alumni community as they take their next steps. We cannot wait to see the impact that they will make in college and beyond.”

Graduation will be extra special for Scott, a 1986 grad.

“This year’s graduation ceremony will hold special significance for our Academy community with Dr. Jerilyn Scott serving as our commencement speaker as she departs the Academy at the end of the academic year and relocates to Virginia. For 25 years, Dr. Scott’s leadership, wisdom and dedication have shaped countless lives while leaving a lasting imprint on our school. Given her years of service, it will be especially meaningful for her to send off this final class of seniors, many of whom she has known and watched grow since their preschool years.”
