Sewickley Academy Performing Arts Department presents “Brian the Comet” and “That’s Checkmate, Mary Gallagher,” two poignant one-act plays by award-winning playwright Emily Hageman. These emotionally resonant works explore the complexities of teenage life, tackling themes of fear, loss and hope with authenticity and heart.

Performances will be held in Gregg Theater on the Academy’s campus at 7 p.m. Oct. 23-24 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 25.

Audiences can expect powerful performances from the talented student cast and crew in a production that speaks directly to the heart of today’s youth.

The plays are produced by special arrangement with Stage Partners.

Admission is free, but seating is limited and tickets should be reserved in advance at sewickley.org/tickets. Any unclaimed seats will be released to those on a standby list five minutes before curtain time.
