Sewickley area academic achievements for the week of Jan. 25, 2022

• Sophia Besterman was named to the Dean’s List at Bloomsburg University for the fall 2021 semester.

• Alaina Giovengo stands among a distinguished group of students at Baldwin Wallace University who have reached BW’s pinnacle of academic achievement with induction into the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. Giovengo, a graduate of Avonworth Jr.-Sr. High School majoring in communication studies, was honored with a membership that is achieved by less than 4% of the undergraduate student body.

Members are selected for consistently maintaining superior academic work. Students inducted into the society each year represent the top 100 students by grade point average who have earned a minimum of 70 semester hours with at least 32 semester hours at BW.

• Georgiana Borland and Melina Tripoli were named to the Dean’s List at Edinboro University for the fall 2021 semester.

• Samantha Batykefer, Kamaria Carioto, Keegan Forsythe, Kirsten Giovengo, Abbey Green, Haven Joseph-Lyon, Melissa Malcomb, Brett McCutcheon, Jessica Neugebauer, Joshua Peters, Elizabeth Rock, Payton Wagoner, Thomas Wanker and Amber Wharrey were named to the Dean’s List at Slippery Rock University for the fall 2021 semester.

• Genevieve Moffett was named to the Dean’s List at Shenandoah University for the fall 2021 semester.

• Ben Mohan was named to the Dean’s List at Bucknell University for the fall 2021 semester. Mohan is a graduate of Sewickley Academy majoring in finance and real estate at Bucknell’s Freeman College of Management.

• Madison Abbs was named to the Dean’s List at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2021 semester. She is majoring in hospitality, resort and tourism management.

• Evan Monski was among more than 600 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who earned more than $12 million in merit scholarships. Monski, a graduate of Quaker Valley High School majoring in acting, earned a $17,000 Deans’ Scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school.

• Kyle Crooch and Sean Dugan were named to the Dean’s List at Southern New Hampshire University for the fall 2021 semester.

• Oliver Funk was named to the Dean’s List at Kennesaw State University for the fall 2021 semester. Funk is majoring in history education-interest.

• Ben Bjorklund, Theo DiBiasi, Brooke Johncour, Sydney Johnson, Josh Nichols, Mason Nichols and Eddie Renner were named to the Dean’s List at Grove City College for the fall 2021 semester.

• Lee Forest was named to the Dean’s List at Emerson College for the fall 2021 semester.
