Antioch Baptist Church

Sunday service is at 10:45 a.m.

Antioch Baptist Church will be hosting a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament on May 20, at 12:30 p.m. at Brooks Elementary School, 1720 Hassam Road, Coraopolis. All are welcome. The tournament is for ages 8–11, 12–14, 15–17, and 18 and up. Registration and waiver forms can be found at antiochfwbaptistsewickley.org. The team registration fee is $5, the cost per player is $10 and the spectator fee is $3. The deadline to register is May 17. A check or money order can be made payable to Antioch Baptist Church. Beth Samuel Jewish Center

Beth Samuel Jewish Center meets every Saturday at 10 a.m. in person and on Zoom for Morning Shabbat Services. First Friday Family Services take place at 5:45 p.m. on the first Friday of the month during the school year, accompanied by a congregational potluck. Kabbalat Shabbat services are held the third Friday of every month during the school year on Zoom.

The congregation will meet for a Passover Seder for the first time in three years at 6 p.m. April 7. Join in the social hall to share the Passover Meal and journey. Cost is $36 per person (maximum $108 per family). To register, complete the form at bethsamuel.org/seder by March 31.

Christ Church at Grove Farm

Sunday Services are 9 a.m. (traditional) and 11:15 a.m. (modern).

Portrait of Christ Art Gallery: Take a walk through a curated art gallery featuring specially chosen art pieces from Jesus’ journey to the cross. Divine Redeemer Parish

The Divine Redeemer 55 Plus Club meets the third Thursday of every month, September through May 2023. The club starts with the Rosary at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and entertainment, ending at 1 p.m. Cost of lunch will be $12 for members and $13 per guest. Lunch reservations for April 20 are due by April 13. The 55 Plus Club motor coach tour to Lancaster will be May 19-20. Attendees will see “Moses Live on Stage” at the Sight and Sound Theater and “Titanic the Musical” at the Fulton Theater. Price is $399 plus $19 taxes and tips per person. Reservations are due by April 23.

North Way Sewickley Valley

North Way Sewickley Valley is a family-friendly Christian community offering services at 9:15 and 11 a.m. each Sunday. Kids Church is available at both services for children from birth to fifth grade. Autism Ministry support is also available for children from preschool to eighth grade with pre-­registration.

Sewickley Presbyterian Church

Maundy Thursday Tenebrae worship service will be held on April 6 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. This service will include communion.

Kids are invited to the annual Good Friday children’s service on April 7 at 10 a.m. The service will be followed by an egg dyeing party. Please register if you plan on attending at sewickleypresby.org.

There will be three services on Easter Sunday, April 9 at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Easter Brunch will be served after each service. All are welcome to attend.

Sewickley United Methodist Church

The Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith, and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services. The church is a reconciling congregation and openly welcomes all people.

On Palm Sunday, April 2, the Liturgy of the Passion: Matthew 26:14-27:66 will be let by Pastor Charissa Howe at 6 p.m. with fellowship to follow.

On Maunday Thursday, April 16, the Scripture Lesson: John 13:1-17, 31b-35 will be led by Rev. William Rankin at 6 p.m.

St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is a progressive, open and socially active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays; the second service is also live-streamed on YouTube. Sunday School and nursery coverage are available for children at the 10 a.m. service. A children’s service is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at 10 a.m. in which young members participate in various aspects of the liturgy.

Service times for Holy Week, which begins April 2, will be: Palm Sunday, 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.; Maundy Thursday, 7 p.m.; Good Friday, Stations of the Cross at noon and service at 7 p.m.; Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil candlelight service, 7 p.m.; Easter Sunday, 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Morning prayer is offered at 8 a.m., Monday-Friday, via Zoom. Bible Study is held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays via Zoom. Please contact the office for links.

The annual spring cleanup is set for April 1, 9 a.m. to noon, when parishioners will weed, rake leaves, spread mulch, trim trees and perform light indoor tasks.

St. Brendan’s Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. April 3 to discuss “The Thursday Murder Club,” a mystery by Richard Osman.

A potluck luncheon for women will be held on April 22 at noon.

The church is accepting applications until April 15 for the paid, part-time position of Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator. Detailed information can be found at stbrendans.org/employment.

St. Matthews AME Zion Church

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday service is at 10:30 a.m., led by Pastor William B. Rankin.

On Good Friday, April 7, the Cross walk will begin at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and end at St. Matthews. Preaching Pastor Emily Miller will lead the service.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Sunday worship is at 10 a.m.; Sunday school at 9 a.m. Weekly Bible study is at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the Edgeworth Eat’n Park.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will hold an Easter Egg hunt at 3 p.m. April 8. We will also have snacks and crafts for the children. There is no cost to attend, and all ages are welcome.

The Kids’ Community Closet at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is now open. The “free-cycle” space serves children ages infant to youth by providing gently used clothing, coats/jackets, and shoes to the community at no cost.

Hours are 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

There are no applications, income guidelines, or donations required to “shop” at the Kids’ Closet. The church takes donations of gently used clothing and shoes. At this time, toys, baby gear, bedding/blankets and athletic equipment cannot be accepted.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

All children ages birth through fifth grade are invited to St. Stephen’s annual free Community Egg Hunt. Come to the church lawn on April 1 at 10 a.m. Please bring your own basket.

On Maundy Thursday, April 6, a traditional lamb stew dinner will be offered at 6 p.m., with the service held at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Childcare is available. Register for the evening at ststephenschurch.net.

The Good Friday service, April 7, takes place during the hours Jesus suffered on the cross (noon-3 p.m.). Come for all or part of this moving service featuring seven short sermons on Christ’s seven last words by the preaching team and guest speakers, along with choral presentations, congregational hymns and prayers.

Easter Sunday Services will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9:15 .a.m and 11:15 a.m.
