Enrolled at Montclair
Sewickley’s Abbey Moul is enrolled as a freshman at Montclair State University in New Jersey, where she plans to study elementary education in the Department of Educational Foundations.
Elected president of student group
Haydar Alhalaway of Sewickley has been elected president of the Saudi Student Union at the University of Findlay in Ohio for the 2020-2021 academic year. The group is one of nearly 100 active student clubs, organizations, national honor societies and special interest groups at UF.
Enrolled at Canisius
John Cullo of Sewickley is among nearly 500 new students at Canisius College in New York. The incoming class includes first-year and transfer students and represents more than 200 high schools from 21 states and eight countries. Cullo is a graduate of North Catholic High School.
Inducted into Honor Society
Chloe Ditka of Sewickley was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Ditka was initiated at University of Kentucky.
Ditka is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
