Sewickley area student news for the week of March 14, 2023

Alexandra Ballou, a marketing major, was named to the dean’s list at Saint Francis University for the fall 2022 semester.

Leah Whitacre was named to the dean’s list at Chatham University’s Falk School of Sustainability & Environment for the fall 2022 semester.

Jared Pfister, a business administration major, has been named to Youngstown State University’s president’s list for achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the fall 2022 semester. Brianna Nowka, a forensic science major, was named to the dean’s list.

John Auth earned dean’s list honors at The University of Tampa for the fall 2022 semester. Auth is majoring in human performance.

Nicholas Mouganis was named to the dean’s list at Anderson University for the fall 2022 semester.

Michael Hertzberg, a Sewickley Academy graduate who is currently playing NCAA DIII hockey as a sophomore at Arcadia University, has once again made the dean’s list for fall 2022 semester. He plans to graduate in 2024 with a bachelors degree in business administration and finish his fourth year of NCAA eligibility in 2025 with an MBA.

All four of Sewickley Academy’s Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship program of 2023 have advanced to Finalist standing. Grace Armutat, Leon Jiao, Jayne Miner and Maria Slivaggio are among approximately 15,000 finalists nationwide who are in consideration for 7,250 National Merit Scholarships. Scholarship award winners will be notified beginning in March.

Olivia Lockette made the dean’s list at DePauw University for the fall 2022 semester.

The following students were named to the dean’s list at Grove City College for the fall 2022 semester: Ben Bjorklund, Mara Brak, Madeline Dunda, Hannah Hanson, Sydney Hanson, Derek Johncour, David Kraus, Mason Nichols and Eddie Renner.

Halle Wagner, Alex Negrini and Kat Kelly were named to the dean’s list at the Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall 2022 semester.

Emma Hamm made the dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2022 semester.

Abigail Birch, Jared Orwell and Matthew Lyons made the dean’s list at John Carroll University for the fall 2022 semester.

Klara Friday was named to the dean’s list at University of Minesotta Twin Cities for the fall 2022 semester.

Courtney Cordell made the chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi for the fall 2022 semester. The chancellor’s honor roll is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.0.

Elizabeth Bates and Deja Debelak made the dean’s list at Geneva College for the fall 2022 semester.
