A long-time provider of women’s health services in the Sewickley area will be one of the core obstetric and gynecology practices at the new AHN Wexford Hospital under construction in Pine Township.

Premier Women’s Health, which has been owned by Allegheny Health Network since 2014, will continue to operate its office in Sewickley. It plans to open a second office in August in the AHN Wexford Health and Wellness Pavilion.

AHN broke ground on its Wexford Hospital in September 2018. It is scheduled to open in fall 2021.

Starting this month, Premier will begin transitioning outpatient surgeries to the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion’s ambulatory surgery center, officials said.

The practice will continue delivering babies at Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital until Feb. 1, then perform all deliveries at AHN’s West Penn Hospital until the Wexford Hospital opens.

“The staff of Premier Women’s Health is excited to practice at the new AHN Wexford Hospital,” said Dr. Frank DiCenzo, a physician with the Sewickley practice, in a news release. “We look forward to caring for our patients in this state-of-the-art, family-friendly and patient-centric facility when it opens next year.

“We are also pleased to add new office space at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion to accommodate our growing practice,” he said.

AHN Wexford Hospital will be the health care network’s fifth obstetrical hospital.

More than 8,000 babies a year are delivered at AHN’s West Penn, Forbes, Jefferson and Saint Vincent hospitals.

“Premier’s deep roots in the community and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care have made them a perfect fit for AHN,” said Dr. Marcia Klein-Patel, who chair’s the health network’s Women’s Institute.
