Sewickley’s central business district.

In an ongoing effort to help local businesses, Sewickley Parking Authority has approved free parking all day on Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1.

Regular enforcement hours will resume on Jan. 2, 2021.

Parking Authority chair Cynthia Mullins said that these dates were in addition to free parking offered on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday as well as Friday afternoons and Saturdays in December.

“Throughout the pandemic, we have been looking for ways to work with our restaurants by dedicating spaces for carry out and outdoor dining while waiving the customary fees,” Mullins said. “This has been a tough year for everyone and we’re no exception. I sincerely hope 2021 is a better year for our citizens and merchants.”

The Parking Authority’s next meeting is 6 p.m. Jan. 20.
