Sewickley Public Library recently hosted one of its largest sports-themed fundraisers with more than 340 patrons navigating fairways between the bookshelves.
The third annual Mini Golf in the Library took place March 6-7.
It was presented by the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library and included three sessions: a Teen Night on opening day; a Family Fun Day the next afternoon; and a sold-out Adult Night.
The event transformed the library at 500 Thorn St. into a one-of-a-kind mini-golf course that welcomed community members of all ages.
Organizers said there were 345 total players. They indicated that more than $14,000 was raised to support the library’s programs, collections, and services.
“We’re thrilled to see the incredible momentum behind Mini Golf in the Library continue to grow year after year,” said Richelle Klug, library head of communications. “This was our strongest event yet. It’s a testament to how much our community embraces creative, joyful experiences that bring people together.
“It’s not every day you get to putt your way through the stacks — this truly is a fun and unique event for all ages, and we’re so grateful for the support that makes it possible.”
Attendees enjoyed creative course designs, prizes, raffles, food and festive activities throughout the library.
Klug said the event would not be possible without its volunteers.
“There is a tremendous amount of planning that goes into this event,” Klug said. “The library is fortunate to have such a dedicated group of volunteers in the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library. Their support helps to sustain our mission to address the needs and interests of our community members.”
Event sponsors included Jim Wiltman, Forrest Orthodontics, Walking The Talk, and Studio St. Germain.
Vocelli Pizza donated food for Teen Night.
