Tapas Talks held its third and final event of the third season Oct. 26 at Allegheny Country club.
The program featured Keith Recker, who discussed “Color at Work.” As the editor in chief of the TABLE magazine and author of two books, “True Colors: World Masters of Natural Dyes and Pigments” and “Deep Color: The Shades That Shape Our Souls,” Recker shared his love of color and international travel and knowledge. His presentation focused on red, white and blue colors and how we can all come together with color!
Delicious tapas foods started the evening’s social hour. Tapas Talks board member Holly M. Hampe welcomed guests and introduced Recker. A question and answer period moderated by Hampe followed the formal presentation. The evening was capped off with dessert, coffee and continued conversation.
Tapas Talks is a non-profit organization to “inform, inspire, connect and give back” to the community through a speaker series.
Thanks to sponsors First National Bank, Heritage Valley Health System, Wilpen Hall, Sewickley Public Library, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services – the Preferred Realty, Michael J. Hatcher/Holly M. Hampe and Fran Merryman. Because of sponsor donations as well as individual donations through Friends of the Talk, Tapas Talks was able to give honorariums to the speakers. Recker donated his honorariums to the Sweetwater Center for the Arts.
In addition, Tapas Talks’ end of season donations have been given to the Sewickley YMCA’s Summer Camp Program, the Sewickley Community’s Swimming Pool restoration, Quaker Valley Education Foundation and Union Aid Society.
