Tapas Talks 3rd season kicked off with Healthcare: Past, Present and Future discussion
Tapas Talks held the first event of its third season on Feb. 16 at the Allegheny Country Club. The organization welcomed previous subscribers as well as 20 new subscribers.
The topic Healthcare: Past, Present and Future presentation was provided by four local healthcare professionals: Dr. Dan Brooks, retired Heritage Valley Health System surgeon and medical director; Norm Mitry, CEO of HVHS; Dr. Kathy Osten, medical director at HVHS; and Patrick Colletti, president of Net Health and author of “Re Founder.”
The evening started with a social hour featuring delicious tapas. Tapas Talks board member Holly M. Hampe welcomed guests and introduced the speakers. After the lecture, there was a question and answer period moderated by Hampe with dessert, coffee and continued conversation to cap off the evening.
Tapas Talks is a non-profit organization to inform, inspire, connect and give back to the community through a speaker series. Because of sponsor donations as well as individual donations through Friends of the Talk, Tapas Talks was able to give honorariums to the speakers. The speakers donated the honorariums to the following organizations: HVHS Foundation, Faith in Action and the Union Aid Society of Sewickley.
In addition, the organization’s end of season donations were given to Sewickley YMCA, Sewickley Community Center and Quaker Valley Education Foundation.
