Two architectural firms will present their plans for the new Quaker Valley High School during a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 25.

Members of the community are invited to attend the meeting via Zoom.

According to Angela Conigliaro, director of communications for QVSD, the district sent a request for proposals in March to five architectural firms. Those firms presented to the facilities committee and select members of the administration.

The top two firms, Stantec and BHSM partnered with Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, will each have 40 minutes to present. Following the presentations, they will take questions from the board.

Conigliaro said the board will not make a final decision on the firm until sometime in June. “Once the board hires an architect, we are still at least a year away from breaking ground,” she said.

The district still has to go through the permitting and planning process, and also needs to hire a civil engineer solely for site development. Conigliaro said the district asked five engineering firms for requests for proposals and they were due back May 17.

A link to register for the meeting can be found on qvsd.org.
