The first Plarn Workshop of 2023 will be held Jan. 26 in the St. James Church Gathering Space from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (This space can be seen from the parking lot.) Volunteers are needed to flatten, fold and cut loops of plastic from plastic grocery bags; that can then be attached and rolled into plarn balls. We also need crocheters to crochet the plarn into 36 by 72 inch mats. Volunteers should bring scissors, plastic bags and crocheters an ‘N’ hook, but more importantly just come. We have sent out more than 829 sleeping mats to 16 countries and 1,513 military mats to 11 countries (to our deployed soldiers). Last year, we sent 45 sleeping mats to people in Ukraine. With your help, we can send out even more.
