Giant Eagle has confirmed that another one of its employees has tested positive for covid-19.

The person works at the store in Rochester, Beaver County, according to a release on the company website.

The company said the affected worker was last in the Rochester store on April 6. The store is at 111 W. Madison St.

In the release, the company also acknowledged that a worker at its Boardman, Ohio, store has tested positive. That worker was last known to be in the store March 31.

Giant Eagle reports that both stores have since been sanitized and are open for shoppers.

The company previously acknowledged that employees at five stores have tested positive for coronavirus. That includes stores in New Kensington, North Huntingdon and Wexford, along with Altoona and Brunswick, Ohio.

In recent weeks, Giant Eagle has modified the way business is done in the wake of the unfolding pandemic.

In mid-March, leaders announced that stores would open an hour early Mondays through Wednesdays for customers who are 60 and older, disabled or immune-compromised. Those shoppers can access the aisles beginning at 6 a.m. in an effort to help them feel comfortable if they are concerned about being exposed to coronavirus.

Earlier this week, added measures began in the form of one-way signs. Arrows were added to the floors of each aisle to direct shoppers and help everyone maintain social distance.

The grocery chain said it also would further limit the number of customers in a store at one time.
