A Braddock man wanted on gun and drug charges since 2020 has been captured, Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced Tuesday.

Christopher Schrock, 28, was supposed to go on trial in June 2020 on charges out of McKeesport, but he forfeited his bond and failed to show up in court, Kraus said.

Detectives developed information this past weekend that Schrock was squatting in an abandoned apartment on Kirkpatrick Street in Braddock, Kraus said.

Detectives entered the building Tuesday and checked an apartment that was vacant. While doing so, they heard noises coming from an apartment below them, Kraus said.

After sheriff’s detectives exited the building, they saw Schrock open a window and look out, Kraus said. He attempted to exit the apartment three different ways until he was taken into custody without further incident.

He was taken to Allegheny County Jail. No additional information on his charges was available Tuesday afternoon.
