A portion of the sidewalk on Penn Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh was closed Sunday after police noticed bricks falling from a building.

Police spotted the falling bricks around 4:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Penn Avenue. They called the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire for assistance, as well as the Department of Public Works, which put up wooden barricades around the building at 941 Penn Ave.

The bricks knocked out the back window of a vehicle parked on the street below the building. Police said they gathered information from the vehicle’s owner.

No injuries were reported.

The Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections will work to determine the structural integrity of the building and its facade.
