Single-lane closures will begin along part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Findlay Connector starting next week.

The restrictions will only be in effect weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday and running through Oct. 16, turnpike officials said. Work will be conducted along the connector between exits two and six, or Route 30 and Route 22 in Allegheny County. The project schedule could change depending on weather.

The closures will allow crews to install digital message boards that will alert drivers to traffic restrictions.

The construction is part of the Southern Beltway’s 55S project, which is working to improve transportation in the Monongahela River Valley, according to the project website. Improvements to the roadway originally began in 2013.
