Jefferson Hills planning commission members said they had no updates this month on a controversial Blackwood housing plan to add 67 single-family homes in the Deer Park neighborhood.
Commission members on Dec. 30 tabled the proposal initially presented in November for another month.
Residents showed up in force in November saying they worried the new housing development would disrupt their quiet streets. They feared their roads would be frequented by homeowners in the new development as they try to get to Cochran Mill and go shopping. They spoke of concerns on the environmental impact and disruptions to their quality of life.
However, developers said neighbors would benefit from the new homes planned on the roughly 47 acres, with access points at Arnoni and Antler drives.
With the new homes, developer Rywood LLC plans to fill in a ravine behind homes on Antler Drive and construct a swale to help alleviate stormwater problems behind homes on Fawn Drive. But the developer told planning commission members in November that they would need easements from residents for some of the work. They also planned to give land to some residents in exchange for grading.
