Earth Day cleanup
Jefferson Hills’ Earth Day Clean-Up is set for 9 a.m. April 24 at 925 Old Clairton Road. Volunteers will meet at the borough building to receive bags, gloves, vests and a grab-and-go breakfast to begin the event.
Public works crews will dispose of all trash collected. Service hours can be given/certified for any participants. Email community relations coordinator Grade Duda at gduda@jeffersonhills.net for more information.
Mother’s Day weekend music event
Start your Mother’s Day Weekend on a great note.
Come out to Colewood Park in Baldwin, bring your masks and your camp chairs, and settle in to enjoy the music of local band Tumbling Dice from 4-7 p.m. May 8. Hummus Pittsburgh and Baires Grill will be providing food.
Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship
The Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship was established to award two seniors, one male and one female, at Thomas Jefferson High School with a one-time $1,000 check made payable to the winner’s post-secondary school.
The deadline to apply is April 30. Email applications to borough manager John Stinner.
Summer concert series seeking sponsors
This summer, the Jefferson Hills Recreation Initiative plans to host a limited concert series at the Andrew Riley Memorial Park amphitheater. The events will be free and open to the public.
The JHRI is seeking sponsorships from local businesses to help cover the costs. The deadline to apply is April 30.
