South Hills Home Show

The South Hills Home Show will take place March 26-28 at the Cool Springs Sports Complex in Bethel Park, offering three action-packed days of experts, exhibits and demonstrations to educate and entertain.

Show hours will be Friday, 3-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission is free.

Summer workers needed

Bethel Park Public Works Department is seeking part-time help to assist with grass cutting and more between May and August. Applicants must be 18 or older and have a driver’s license. Pay is $11 per hour.

Easter bunny parade

The Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an Easter bunny parade April 3 starting at 11 a.m.

The Easter bunny will be traveling around the neighborhoods of Castle Shannon and Baldwin Township on a fire truck passing out treats for children.

Pleasant Hills Garden Club meeting

The Pleasant Hills Garden Club (PHGC) meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 12 at PLeasant Hills’ Mowry Park at the large pavilion.

The program “Chrysalis and Butterflies” will be presented by knowledgeable club members.

The PHGC always welcomes new members and non-members are welcome to attend.

Summer help wanted in Jefferson Hills

The Borough of Jefferson Hills is seeking applicants for summer help in the Public Works Department. Work duties include grass cutting, weed whacking, field and park maintenance and clean-up and labor on road construction projects.

General work hours are Mondays through Fridays 6 a.m.-2 p.m. and will be required to work one weekend per month.

Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship

The Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship was established to award two seniors, one male and one female, at Thomas Jefferson High School with a one-time $1,000 check made payable to the winner’s post-secondary school.

The deadline to apply is April 30. Email applications to borough manager John Stinner.

Used Sports Equipment Sale

The Jefferson Hills Recreation Initiative will be selling donated used sports equipment on April 10 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Gill Hall Park to raise funds for the initiative to offset the cost of field upgrades and user friendly-sports, and facility scheduling software for community residents.

March to Sack Hunger Campaign

The South Hills Interfaith Movement is holding its second annual “March to Sack Hunger” campaign, a month-long high-urgency initiative, to raise awareness of suburban poverty and combat hunger in the South Hills.

To support the campaign, the community is encouraged to participate in weekly themes like fundraising with a friend, purchasing take-out meals from local restaurants, and tuning in on social media to hear touching stories from SHIM’s volunteers, donors, and staff.

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish $50,000 raffle

The St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is hosting a $50,000 raffle. To enter, purchase a $100 raffle ticket that benefits both the St. Therese School and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. The winning number will be drawn Easter Sunday, April 4 at 7 p.m. The drawing will be based on the Pennsylvania daily lottery.
