In brief: Elm Leaf park grant, summer concert series and more in the South Hills
Elm Leaf Park grant
Baldwin Borough’s efforts to upgrade Elm Leaf Park were selected to receive a $100,000 county grant, according to state Rep. Jessica Benham, D-Allegheny.
“I’m thrilled to see that these investments are continuing to be made in our communities and to assist projects that will benefit all of our neighbors,” Benham said. “If the last year has underlined one thing, it’s how critical open, public parks are to everyone’s health and well-being, and I want to congratulate Baldwin Borough and all of the volunteers and community members who have worked on this project.”
The $100,000 grant, awarded through Allegheny County’s Community Infrastructure and Tourism Fund grant program, will help with the third phase of the borough’s park project. According to the borough, the third phase will include redeveloping parts of the park, adding disability access, a new small playground, and expanding the existing concessions area among other things.
