Triumph of the Holy Cross Summer Festival

Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish kicks off its summer festival on July 28 from 6-11 p.m. and runs through July 31. Triumph of the Holy Cross Summer Fest is a fun-filled event for the whole family featuring a variety of live music, rides and entertainment, delicious food, baked goods and much more. “There’s something for everyone,” said Gary Burcin, chairperson of the festival committee. “Games and rides are being provided by LAM Amusements, raffles, Bingo, homemade donuts, games of chance and a super auction for adults. It’s always a wonderful event for the entire community.”

Each evening features special entertainment and dinner menus.

July 28: Judi Figel & David Crisci Duo from 7-10 p.m. Dinner special is meatball hoagie.

July 29: The Abilene Band from 7-10 p.m. Dinner special is a Polish platter including kielbasa, sauerkraut and homemade pierogies.

July 30: The Belairs from 7-10 p.m. Skyjump Raffle and Super Bingo. Dinner special is the annual festival fish fry.

July 31: The Wurms from 7-10 p.m. Dinner special is BBQ pulled pork.

Jefferson Hills Night Market

Jefferson Hills Recreation Initiative hosts its Night Markets from 5-8 p.m. Thursdays through July 29 at Andrew E. Reilly Memorial Park.

There will be a variety of local vendors, food trucks and other activities.

Vacation Bible School

Greenock United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township will host a new concept of Vacation Bible School designed for age groups on certain days following the circus theme “Big & Bold-Courageous Faith.”

Class sizes will be limited.

Campers will start their days at 9:30 a.m. and end at noon.

• Ages 3 and 4 will meet Aug. 9.

• Students completing kindergarten, first and second grade will gather Aug. 10-11.

• Students who finished third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades will enjoy activities Aug. 12-13.

• A Family Night with ice cream treats will be held outdoors for all campers accompanied by their parents and/or guardians starting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13.

The leadership aims to provide a safe, fun and healthy environment following prevailing CDC guidelines for the coronavirus.
