St. Pius X Byzantine Church, located at 2236 Brownsville Road in Carrick, is selling frozen potato cheese ($11 per dozen, $6 per half dozen), cottage cheese ($15 per dozen, $8 per half dozen) and sauerkraut pierogis ($12 per dozen, $6 per half dozen) on Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
Visit with Santa
Pleasant Hills Police Department is hosting a visit with Santa from 11:30 1.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 6 at Pleasant Hills Middle School. Attendees will enjoy a free photo with Santa, snacks and drinks, free holiday face painting, performances by the South Hills Dance Academy and more. The Pirate Parrot will also make an appearance.

Bells Across PA unveiling
Jefferson Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home is hosting Bells Across PA, America250’s statewide art series in which local artists adorn and transform fiberglass bell sculptures in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. The event takes place at 1 p.m. Dec. 11, featuring bell artwork by Scott Saloney.

Christmas cookie sale
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral is hosting its annual Christmas Cookie Sale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 6. The sale features a wide variety of homemade holiday cookies for $15 per pound. Other baked goods, including nut roll, nut horns, apple strudel and lady locks, will be available.

Catholic singles dinner dance
Catholic Alumni Club of Pittsburgh invites all Catholic singles over the age of 21 to join us on Dec. 13 for a fun-filled evening of dining, dancing, fellowship and cash bar at the annual semi-formal Christmas Dinner Dance. Doors open at 6 pm. The event is being held at Gaetano’s Banquet Center, 1617 Banksville Road in Beechview. Come and meet friendly new people or come as a group. Cancer screening
Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute will host its monthly Saturday cancer screening clinic on Dec. 6 at AHN Cancer Institute – Jefferson, 575 Coal Valley Road, Jefferson Hills.
This vital clinic provides accessible cancer screenings for both AHN and non-AHN patients. Those interested in attending must make an appointment by calling 412-359-6665. Patients with or without insurance are strongly encouraged to attend.
Attendees can receive several screenings in a single visit at this convenient, one-stop location. Available screenings include: breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, head and neck cancers, lung cancer, prostate cancer and skin cancer.
Rotary Scholarship
The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Program is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year to high school seniors in Allegheny and Beaver counties. Vocational students, G.E.D. students and those attending parochial, charter and private schools are also eligible.
Students must have a 2.5 or higher grade point average and must also complete an essay that highlights their community/school service as part of the application submission.

South Hills Coin Club
The monthly meeting of the South Hills Coin Club will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Bethel Park municipal building. All members and the general public are invited. Virtual Holiday Paint & Sip
The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA is hosting its Sixth Annual Virtual Holiday Paint & Sip Celebration to benefit MGA’s free patient support services.
This year’s event will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Dec. 11. For a $50 donation to MGA, participants will receive a link to participate in the virtual holiday paint and sip event, the supplies needed to create their own snowflake-inspired art, and two bottles of wine from Kavic Winery in Carnegie. The creation of the art will be led by art therapist Kristy Walter and the wine tasting will be led by Michael and Patricia Kavic.
Myasthenia Gravis is often called the “Snowflake Disease” because it manifests itself differently in every patient.

AUP looking for members
The Association of University People invites singles 50 and over, who are four-year college graduates, to join them for activities and to meet new people.
Activities include happy hour, monthly brunches, lunches and dinners, a book group, day trips, Scrabble, meeting up at local concerts/wineries and the annual festive Holiday party.
