An Alternative History of Pittsburgh virtual talk

Join Whitehall Public Library for a virtual talk with Ed Simon that spotlights our hometown in a brand new light beyond just steel and sports. Shaped millions of years ago by the receding waters of a once-great ocean, the land surrounding the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers has supported communities of humans for millennia. In the past four centuries, however, it has been transformed utterly and many times over by the people who call it home. In the prerecorded talk that will be released July 6, Simon, will follow the story of America’s furnace through a series of interconnected stories.
