In brief: Vacation Bible School, special needs triathlon and more in the South Hills
Vacation Bible School
Greenock United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township will host a new concept of Vacation Bible School designed for age groups on certain days following the circus theme “Big & Bold-Courageous Faith.”
Class sizes will be limited.
Campers will start their days at 9:30 a.m. and end at noon.
• Ages 3 and 4 will meet Aug. 9.
• Students completing kindergarten, first and second grade will gather Aug. 10-11.
• Students who finished third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades will enjoy activities Aug. 12-13.
• A Family Night with ice cream treats will be held outdoors for all campers accompanied by their parents and/or guardians starting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13.
The leadership aims to provide a safe, fun and healthy environment following prevailing CDC guidelines for the coronavirus.

Dance intensive day camp
Forest Dancer Intensive will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 20 at The South Park Cottage. Cost is $60.
Musical dance instructor Geña Musica will be part of the faculty for the action-packed day of dance education. Maria Eugenia Nieves Escoriaza, better known in artistic circles as Geña, is an international, interdisciplinary recording artist residing in Pittsburgh. She is a singer, percussionist, dancer and teaching artist, who will offer the most diverse programming imaginable for the dancers at the day camp by teaching Bomba/Plena with percussion drumming.
In addition, classical ballet, jazz, modern and folk dance along with an outstanding faculty of noted teachers, Jessica Collazo-Lilja, Chelsea Rokop and Virginia Nicoll will be part of the day.
Forest Dancer also will have a program for younger dancers, ages 4 to 6, in ballet, creative movement and folk dance. This program will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25.
