Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in West Mifflin

A Pittsburgh man died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in West Mifflin.

Andrew Byrne, 61, was struck by a vehicle in the 1100 block of Lebanon Road shortly before 6:45 p.m., authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at 7:45 p.m. after being transported from the scene to the emergency room at Jefferson Hospital, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma.

Allegheny County police are investigating.
