A house fire on Country Club Drive in Upper St. Clair on Jan. 23 claimed the life of a 42-year-old woman.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died in a January house fire in Upper St. Clair.

The medical examiner’s office ruled Thursday that Meredith Miller, 42, died as the result of soot and smoke inhalation, and extensive thermal burns, from a fire Jan. 23 in the 2200 block of Country Club Drive.

Miller died at the scene, according to the medical examiner.

Four other people, including two police officers, were injured in the fire, authorities said at the time. The officers were treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation and released, the other two peoples’ conditions were unknown at the time.

The house was destroyed.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the fire. County emergency services spokeswoman Kasey Reigner said the fire is classified as undetermined, “due to the severe fire damage and collapse.”
