The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said Thursday that the death of a Mt. Lebanon man found dead in his home last month was a homicide.

Regis Bonner, 86, died of blunt force trauma to the head, officials said.

Last month, Allegheny County police said the May 13 death was suspicious.

At 2:58 p.m. that day, Mt. Lebanon Police responded to the 200 block of Academy Avenue for reports of a dead man whose body had been discovered by a family member. Police said they found trauma to Bonner’s body and circumstances that indicated they needed assistance from the homicide unit.

County police detectives said one of the doors to the man’s home was unlocked.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-255-8477.

Callers can remain anonymous. The department can also be reached via its social media sites.
