No injuries were reported in a house fire in Brookline late Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in a fire late Wednesday afternoon in Brookline, officials said.

Pittsburgh fire Capt. Robert Geyer said no one had been injured or trapped in the fire, which broke out just before 5 p.m. in a house in the 2800 block of Sageman Avenue.

“Crews were able to keep (the fire contained) to one bedroom,” Geyer said. “There’s a little bit of property loss.”

Firefighters put out the flames within about 30 minutes, he said. It’s unclear how the fire started.

Tony Cagnacci said he had recently moved into the house with some other relatives this month. He came home just in time to see smoke billowing from his new home.

“All the smoke was pouring out,” he said.

A dog safely escaped the flames with a relative, Cagnacci said. He said he was hopeful his four cats were still in the house unharmed.
