Authorities said one person was found dead early Monday morning as fire crews responded to a fire at a home along Mike Reed Drive in South Park Township.

Authorities have identified the fatal fire victim from Monday morning in the South Hills as a 42-year-old man from South Park.

Donald Uncapher was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m. at the scene of the fire in the 1100 block of Mike Reed Drive in South Park.

Police, firefighters and EMS were dispatched at 1:07 a.m. to a reported house fire on the street, a 911 dispatcher told TribLive.

One person later was found dead inside the home, where crews said smoke was coming from a garage, TribLive news partner WTAE reported.

Nobody from the scene was hospitalized, a dispatcher said.

Allegheny County Police and the fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.

“Any further information about the fire will come from the fire marshal’s office,” Jim Madalinsky, a county police spokesperson, said.
