Pittsburgh police are seeking the public’s help finding Thomas Hughes, 25, of Beechview, who has been missing since Jan. 23, 2021.

Pittsburgh police are seeking the public’s help in the search for a Beechview man who hasn’t been seen since late Saturday night.

Investigators say Thomas Hughes, 25, was last seen at around 11 p.m. on Jan. 23.

He is 6-feet 1-inch tall, weighs 260 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Hughes was wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans, black boots and a black Carhartt jacket when he was last seen.

Police said Hughes may have been driving a silver, 2012 Volkswagen Routan minivan.

Anyone with information about where Hughes might be is asked to call the Special Victims Unit at 412-323-7141.

Hughes’ sister, Alexis Hughes, said her brother was last seen leaving her home in Beechview on Saturday night.

When he did not return and failed to answer his telephone, family members began searching the area and found the vehicle with the keys in the ignition at the entrance of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail in the South Side, she said.

Police blocked off part of 18th Street while investigators, including members of the river rescue team, searched the van and the surrounding area for clues, she said.

“Please check any alleys and trails or anywhere that someone could be hidden or hide easily,” Hughes said in a statement sent to the Tribune-Review. “We appreciate any and all efforts to help bring my brother home.”

She said family members and friends were out searching for Hughes this this morning and were distributing flyers with his photo and description in the hope that he may have been spotted by someone.
