Pleasant Hills Middle School kicks off annual food drive
Pleasant Hills Middle School staff and students kicked off their annual food drive Oct. 22 in a very colorful way. Last year, the students surpassed their goal of collecting 10,000 pounds of food donations, so staff members followed through with their promise of dying their hair to kick off the 2020 Food Drive.
Each year, students and staff members work together to raise food supplies and monetary donations as part of their Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the West Elizabeth Food Bank. The food drive runs through Nov. 12.
Non-perishable food items will also be collected at Thomas Jefferson High School during this time. Additional items accepted include any unopened toiletry products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.), baby products, paper products or monetary donations. Donations will also be accepted as part of the admission to the TJHS Powder Puff Football Game next month.
A Food Drive bin is also located outside of the main entrance at the middle school as a convenient drop-off area for any community members wanting to participate.
