A suspect is in custody after a stabbing that hospitalized two people Monday in Baldwin.

Allegheny County Police responded to the 5300 block of Youngridge Drive at about 1:15 p.m., police spokesman Jim Madalinsky said.

First responders found a man and woman, both adults, suffering from stab wounds to the chest area, Madalinsky said. Both victims were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

Police did not name or otherwise identify the suspect, who they said was taken into custody at the scene, Madalinsky said.

“Detectives will consult with the district attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed,” he said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
