Pittsburgh police arrested a man Saturday who is accused of committing several recent robberies.

Nicolas Ellis, 30, of the city’s North Side, is accused of robbing the Rite Aid along the 3700 block of Forbes Avenue. In addition, police said Ellis confessed to robbing gas stations in Oakland and two in the South Hills area over the past week.

The Saturday robbery happened at about 8 a.m. with Ellis accused of taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, police said.

Police found him at a home in the 2800 block of California Avenue, and took him into custody without incident.

Ellis confessed to the other robberies which happened over the past three days, police said.

They include gas stations on North Craig Street, Banksville Road and West Liberty Avenue.

Ellis was booked into the Allegheny County Jail on four robbery charges, police said.
